Summer Hummer

I attended Summer Hummer (Vacation Bible School at my church this summer) with 800 other campers. It was an amazing week!
My mom was the head counselor for another group of 5-year-old boys. Here they are doing a craft.
Look for me singing worship songs in this group!

Karen also got to participate with the "Future Summer Hummer" group for kids 3 and under.
Mama got picked to go on stage during the final assembly for a silly science experiment.
We had a blast at the family fun night on the final day of camp.

We performed all the songs we learned for the families that came to the fun night. We've already marked our calendar for Summer Hummer 2016!

Trip to Canada!

We had a wonderful 4 day visit to Vancouver Island earlier in August. Mama and Papa showed us many of the same sites they saw 15 years ago for mama's 25th birthday getaway. We explored the beautiful legislature building in downtown Victoria.
We visited the Royal B.C. Museum. It's a huge museum that could have taken us a few days to thoroughly explore. A highlight was panning for gold in their featured Gold Rush Exhibit.
We loved the petting zoo. This goat named Darth Vader was our favorite!
We hiked to explore some beaches along the Strait of Juan de Fuca from our campsite.

Papa was resourceful when Karen got cold on the hike back.
Fueling up for another day of adventures.
Tough campers! Look at that "stink eye"!
Exploring trees on a hike.

Camping along Lake Cowichan on the interior of Vancouver Island.
Silly time!
Ice cream treat in downtown Victoria on our last day.
We had such a special trip! This was Karen and my (Holden's) first time visiting another country.
We saw porpoises, a seal, and jelly fish on our ferry ride back to Port Townsend.

Visit to the Zoo with Grandma D

Grandma D had an extended visit for mama's birthday weekend and one of our many adventures included a trip to the zoo. Once again, mama didn't come prepared with extra clothes for the water in the Kid's Zone...but fortunately it was a warm day and we'd already seen most of the animals.
 We had a blast!!
We also loved feeding the goats!
Grandma was SO THOUGHTFUL and bought us each a new shirt at the gift shop on our way out. We were thankful for the DRY shirts and the fun keepsake. We love you! Thanks for the awesome visit!
