Contemplating whether or not to dunk my head underwater....??? Yes, I did it!! I think I earned this congratulatory hug from Papa. Now it's time to keep kicking around!
Recent rains left a really fun "lake" on the pole vault pit at our track. Caleb is not only a gifted thrower on my parent's team, but he calls himself a "big kid". We had a blast at practice today!
My mommy has recently discovered I LOVE to help her with chores (whether it's washing the dishes, dusting or sweeping). She's curious how long I'll really ENJOY helping her with these tasks?!
My parents tease me that it's obvious I was born up north in "snow country" because I am very intrigued by snowmen or anything else related to snow. My new favorite song is Frosty the Snowman. After going to the library this week and checking out a new book about a snowman that loses his carrot nose...I read the book over and over again when I took frequent breaks from playing at the park.
I loved a story about a little boy that went sailing in my new Highlight magazine that comes every month from Grandpa Mike and Grandma Donna...so I asked my mommy to make me a paper hat and telescope just like the boy in the story. I've had so much fun climbing all over the house navigating my "own seas"!
We were blessed with an unexpected and beautiful phenomenon during a hike this evening. We crested a hill where we were able to watch the sun set over the ocean in one direction as well as watch the full moon rise up over the hills in the other direction. The pictures are just a glimpse of the actual beauty. A mountain biker who had stopped to view the event, took a family picture for us.
With the soaring prices for gas, I try to use alternative forms of transporation when I can... like running, walking, skipping, hitching a ride in the BOB stroller, or in the back of my parent's bike. But with a full tank, now I'm ready to ZOOM away in this little red car at the play area outside church.
Grandpa Mike and I read lots of books during his recent visit. Grandma Donna gave us a new hummingbird feader for our front balcony. There are still lots of "hummers" here in S. CA even in the winter.
I got my very own workbench from grandpa and grandma for Christmas. I put it to use helping to mount our new hummingbird feeder.
I am hearing more and more about a baby and my mommy's tummy keeps getting bigger and bigger...I have the feeling our lives are going to radically change very soon. Happy New Year! Love, Holden and my parents
