Frisbee Fun!

We've had a blast playing frisbee everyday this past week. It's one of our new favorite outside activities!

Exploring a new trail

Mommy didn't get up early enough to do her daily 'dark run' before taking Holden to preschool, so I got to be her little 'running buddy' in the BOB this morning. With a chance to run with the sun up...she tried the Chehalis Western Trail that stretches 22 miles through Thurston County (and even connects with the 14 mile Yelm-Tenino Trail that uncle Micah and auntie Amy often run on).
We are seriously amazed by all the lakes and little bodies of water in SW Washington....we counted 6 bodies of water on our run today!

Special visit with Janie and McCauley family

Mommy felt so blessed to spend part of Saturday with her best friend Janie during her quick visit to WA. Thank you, grandma D, for watching Karen and me during mommy's outing. Janie stayed with her aunt Pinky and uncle Mike prior to covering the Seahawks/49ers game on Sunday for the Associated Press. They went on two walks...it was a gorgious day.
Janie, her sister-in-law Petra, and her nephew Finnegan.
It was such a treat for mommy to spend some time with the rest of the McCauley family too. Connie was as beautiful as ever and especially shined with her grand kids!

Designer Paper Airplane Trials

Thank you auntie Teddy and uncle Kevin for the really great Christmas gifts including the kit we used to design and make our own paper airplanes.
We launched our planes over the side of our deck 20+ times this afternoon. They flew really well. It was a lot of fun!!
My sister named her plane "blue" and I called mine "eagle eye".
 Here's an up close picture.
After we exhausted our airplane flights...we moved on to launching these really cool "helicopter" seeds off the deck. We got a kick out of them twirling to the ground!

Night Riding

We've had a blast this past week riding our bikes even after the sun goes down. My sister still can't reach the pedals on her tricycle but she's now tall enough to scoot around all by herself since her feet can finally touch the ground. She loves her new independence on wheels!
I am getting faster and more confident on my balance bike. I've even begun zooming over new surfaces including gravel and grass. It's so much fun!

Snort Game

We had about 35 athletes from the Saints track & field team at our house for a meal this past week. After dinner, we played some games including this "Snort Game". The goal was NOT to smile when the person next to you snorted in your face. I held my own and kept a straight face for multiple rounds!
 I may be small...but I have a mighty snort!
As you can see, the Saints had fun trying to make their peers smile. The various "snorting strategies" were quite entertaining!

Lunch and Museum Outing

We had a great time exploring, playing, and eating lunch with some close friends at the children's museum this past week.
Holly and Nathan used their creativity to make a paper parachute.
 Karen showed a finished product.
Holden tried his parachute in the wind tunnel.

Making Seattle Seahawks Cookies

For Christmas, Papa gave us a bin of 100 different seasonal cookie cutters. Today Mama and I used his gift to make Seahawks cookies to give to Lola and Violet's grandparents. Since we don't have cable television, Pete and Bonnie are graciously letting us watch the Seahawks/Saints game at their house tomorrow. Notice the "football helmet" I wore during much of the cookie preparation!

We decorated orange footballs, blue football helmets, a "P" for Pete, a "B" for Bonnie, and the number 12 (dedicated Seahawks fans need no explanation for this one). Go Hawks!

Exploring the Area

This weekend we took advantage of the beautiful weather and explored some trails near Priest Point Park.
We reached some mudflats along Budd Bay at the southern end of the Puget Sound.

We had a great view of downtown Olympia and the state capital buildings

First Day at a New Preschool

Cold and Rainy Park Days

I think my brother and I are getting used to the cooler temperatures in Washington. Even when it's raining, we plead with mommy to take us to a park.
We usually have the park all to ourselves. She assures us there will be more kids when the sun comes out.
But for now, we'll keep dressing warmly and enjoying parks in our area!

Hands on Children's Museum

We had an invitation from Evan and Nathan to go to the Children's Museum in Olympia later this month...but we couldn't wait. Of course we'd still enjoy your company when we go back. We loved the museum!! We stayed for 3 hours and left with our own annual pass!

Dr. Brewer

I started my shift checking on the health of my dolls and stuffed animals.
Then I did a thorough check up on my brother.
