Fire Station Field Trip

I had so much fun on my field trip to the McLain Fire Station with Mama's MOPS group while Holden was at pre school.

Making Bird Feeders

This was a fun project that involved looking for pine cones, attaching the bird seed, and finding places outside to distribute the feeders!

Park, Picnic, and Sunshine!

We had lots of errands to do on Monday but we made time to go outside and enjoy the beautiful sunshine!

Magic Monkey Banana Treats

We read a fun book called "No More Cookies" and it included a yummy recipe for chocolate dipped frozen banana treats. Of course we had to try it!

Birthday Treats and Fun

We had no problem bouncing and running around for hours on all the play structures, jump houses, and slides at our friend, Jake's, birthday party. They provided plenty of candy, cake, and pizza to keep us fueled!
Jake's mom, Cathy, made an amazing cake for his construction-themed birthday party.

Couldn't Get Down!

Karen came downstairs to tell mama she wanted to "be up like Holden". Mama then discovered I was stuck up in my closet and couldn't get down.

Potty Training Celebration!

Yipppeeeee! We're celebrating at the Brewer household! After a few accidents almost daily this past month...I'm so excited to report I've been 100% in the "big girl" potty all week with no accidents.

Little Scientists

We love the new science kit we got for Christmas from Auntie Amy and Uncle Moo. Thank you!
This experiment involved growing a rainbow of soft watery crystals.
Scientists sometimes use these crystals to help retain water in soil because they absorb up to 150 times their weight in water.
We investigated the crystals with smell, touch, and sight (using our magnifier).

Another test involved watching slow-moving colors collide, form distinct barriers, and eventually mix and flow together.
Karen was amazed by the colorful transformation of our experiment after our bath last night!

Birthday Party

We colored our own Captain America shields and masks at my friend Jason's birthday party.
My mom was impressed by how well organized the party was. Here we are waiting in line for cake (shaped like Captain America's shield using white frosting and rings of blue and red M&M's - sorry no picture).
Jason was glad Karen could come too...even though she was pretty shy.
Fun party and great group of kids!

Karen's First Haircut

This was my first "official haircut". The brush goes through my hair so much easier now. Thanks Grandma D! Holden actually tried giving me a haircut using his kid scissors this summer...but my parents stopped him before he cut off more than a portion of my bangs.

Grandma's Special Christmas Visit

Grandma D stayed with us this past week and we had a blast playing with her, opening Christmas gifts with her, and going on lots of adventures with her including Northwest Trek near Mount Rainier. It was a cool, crisp day and the wildlife was incredible!

We miss you and love you Grandma D!

Building a NEW sand box!

Karen and I were so excited to help Papa and Grandpa build a new sand box in our back yard. We worked until it got dark to finish it!

Even though it's been really cold this week, we've already spent hours playing in it!
