Green Thumb

My mommy wishes she was more of a "green thumb". So we're learning together how to start an avocado plant from a seed.

We've had success already with some fernlike foliage coming out of our carrot tops. I check it everyday to see the growth and make sure there is enough water.

Bunny Hop, Hop!!

I had a blast hopping around the house this morning with the bunny ears I made. My mom could hardly catch me on film!

I finally took a break from hopping around to show Karen my ears.

Patience of a Fisherman

I spent almost an hour trying to catch some fish yesterday in a nearby stream. I was sure that this stick and my "worms" would catch some HUGE fish to roast on the campfire! My parents love my emerging imagination!

Big Brother - The Entertainer

I love entertaining baby Karen. Last night she listened and watched my performance on the snare drum.

This morning she watched and listened to me make all sorts of animal sounds.

I've introduced her to many of my toys including this little finger puppet and Clifford.

I can't wait until Karen isn't on the sidelines...and she can play with me!

When she wasn't in the bouncer...I wanted to see if I still fit...I do!

Meeting the Anteater

We went to University of California Irvine this weekend for a track meet (the home of the Anteaters). My parents drove me all around campus after the meet looking for an Anteater as I really wanted to meet one and show him the little anteater I made!

Auntie Teddy and Uncle Kevin Visit

Auntie Teddy was the first to hold my new baby sister, Karen!

Then uncle Kevin and Auntie Teddy showed me all the fun new toys they brought for me! Thank you so much!

Karen showed Teddy how she likes to tilt her head back when she's held!

I had so much fun playing and reading with Uncle Kevin! I especially liked how he changed his voice for every character in the book.

Thanks for all the fun memories. We miss you already!

My papa and I entertained my mom and sister with some hilarious dance moves this weekend! It was a great way to get some energy out before going to bed!

Spotting a Woodpecker

I've taken a new interest in looking for feathered friends with the bird feeder and hummingbird feeders we recently hung outside our house. Yesterday on a walk, I heard and spotted a woodpecker tapping away in a tree. It was very exciting!

My Flying Carpet

It's the perfect weekend for more craft ideas because it's been raining all day and my little sister sleeps so much. This morning I helped my mommy cut open a large paper grocery bag...then we cut fringe into both ends and I designed my very own flying carpet.

Once I was done...I hopped aboard the carpet and had so much fun "flying" all over the kitchen and the house!!

Making Maracas!

This afternoon I decorated some empty plastic bottles and filled them with dry beans, macaroni, and pasta to make my very own maracas. They are great music-makers!

Karen likes to be held just like I (Holden) did as a baby...with her head tilted back.

My new baby sister has me wrapped around her little finger. I adore lil' Karen!!

Dandelion Perseverance

For at least 3 minutes, I blew with persistence trying to spread these dandelion seeds. My mommy wasn't quick enough with the camera to capture me throwing my arms up in the air with excitement when I was FINALLY successful!

My great aunt Cathy and great uncle Bob came to visit me this weekend. (I'm named after his sister Karen.)

Discovering the thumb

The past two days my parents and I have noticed my baby sister Karen likes to nap with her thumb in her mouth. My mommy said I (Holden) didn't really like to suck my thumb as a baby.
