Awaiting babies from our newest neighbor

Holden recently spotted a new hummingbird nest on a tree right outside our front door. We've really enjoyed watching the mother bird sit on her two eggs (each the size of a small jelly bean) the past few days.
We've researched that the mother usually incubates her eggs 16 - 18 days. The babies are born with no feathers, dark skin, and closed eyes. The hummingbirds won't leave the nest until full grown. We'll keep you posted and try to take more pictures as we await the arrival of the babies!

  1. Yeah Holden you are now an official "Bird Watcher." Way to go Holden. Maybe it's time to fill up your humming bird feeder to keep mama humming bird full of some good food. Hugs and kisses to you Mr. Bird Watcher.
