Open & seed a pomegranate in less than a minute

Grandma D visited us this past weekend. We were amazed by how quickly she could open and seed a pomegranate. First she scored the rind around the "equator", then with her hands she opened the fruit into 2 halves while loosening the seeds a little bit, finally she let me bang the rind with a wooden spoon while the seeds fell right through her hand into a bowl in the sink.
We are SO EXCITED about this new technique! Our family LOVES pomegranates and it used to take us at least 5 minutes to get all the seeds out. Yum!!
